Syracuse at Cincinnati: Jay Bromley, Adonis Ameen-Moore questionable

Mark Konezny-US PRESSWIRE

Syracuse head coach Doug Marrone updated SU's injury report Thursday as the Orange continue preparation for Saturday's Big East Conference game at Cincinnati (12 p.m. on the Big East Network).

The Syracuse Orange could be without sophomore running back Adonis Ameen-Moore and junior defensive tackle Jay Bromley Saturday when it visit the Cincinnati Bearcats for a Big East Conference football game at Nippert Stadium (Noon on the Big East Network), head coach Doug Marrone said Thursday.

Bromley (6'4, 290 pounds) is suffering from a lower-body injury and will travel with the team to Cincinnati. However, if Bromley misses his first game of the season the Orange will rely on redshirt senior Deon Goggins (6'1, 274) and sophomore Eric Crume (6'0, 306) to step up said Marrone.

Ameen-Moore (5'11, 239), SU's short-yardage tailback and key aspect of its goal-line "TANK" package, may miss his second straight game with a lower-body injury. Last week without Ameen-Moore, who has three rushing touchdowns, SU used featured running back, junior Jerome Smith, as its short-yardage option. His carries in the formation were limited due to the Orange's need to rally from a 20-point deficit.

Some good news on the injury front features freshman slashback Ashton Bryold returning to 100-percent and he will be an option after missing last week's a contest at South Florida. Its possible Bryold could be used in red zone situations.

Also expected to play at nearly 100-percent is wide receiver and kicker returner Jeremiah Kobena.
