St. John's Vs. Pittsburgh Final Score: Win Streak Ends For Red Storm with 89-69 Loss To Pitt

It seemed like the Pittsburgh Panthers might never miss a shot in their lopsided 89-69 over the St. John's Red Storm on Wednesday night at Petersen Events Center. The Panthers (16-14, 5-12 Big East) made more than 63 percent of their field goal attempts and doubled up the Red Storm (13-17, 6-11 Big East) in rebounds on the way to their first win in their last six games.

Despite the lopsided final, St. John's stayed close in the first half. Three D'Angelo Harrison turnovers with less than two minutes to play in the first half allowed Pitt to expand a one-point lead to a 38-33 edge at the half. Things spiraled out of control from there.

A J.J. Moore three-pointer with 11 minutes left to play in the game gave Pitt a 21-point edge.

Ashton Gibbs led the Panthers with 19 points, one of four players in double figures. Harrison led St. John's 21 points. Phil Greene had 18 points for the Red Storm.

St. John's closes out the regular season on Saturday against Rutgers.
