St. John's At Cincinnati Preview: Red Storm Visit Bearcats In Big East Clash

St. John's men's basketball faces another stiff test on Saturday afternoon, when the Red Storm visit the Cincinnati Bearcats at 2 p.m.

The Big East Conference schedule carries with it few, if any, easy victories. St. John's men's basketball faces another stiff test on Saturday afternoon, when the Red Storm visit the Cincinnati Bearcats at 2 p.m.

St. John's has lost two straight since beginning conference play with a dominant victory against Providence. The Red Storm followed a New Year's Eve loss to Connecticut by falling to Louisville on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden. St. John's shot just 14.3 percent in the first half and 28.1 percent for the game en route to the latter defeat, a 73-58 affair.

Cincinnati has not lost in seven outings since being beaten by Xavier on Dec. 10, a loss that included an ugly fight which brought several suspensions. The Bearcats have begun Big East play with two wins, defeating Pittsburgh on the road and Notre Dame at home.

Sean Kilpatrick leads Cincinnati with 15.3 points per game. D'Angelo Harrison paces St. John's with an average of 15.9 points. Teammate Moe Harkless contibutes 15.3 points per game and has averaged 20.0 points in Big East play, good for sixth in the conference.

St. John's is still looking for its first road victory of the season after losing its first five contests away from home, a tally that includes two neutral-site games.
