NFL Draft 2012, Rutgers Prospects: Is Mohamed Sanu Slipping Down Draft Boards

Stay connected for news and updates

During the early portion of the 2012 NFL Mock Draft season former Rutgers University wide receiver Mohamed Sanu was often a late first-round selection and never less than early-to-middle of the second-round selection. That might be changing for Sanu, and not for the better.

In the most recent Draft Tek seven-round draft simulation Sanu was given to the Indianapolis Colts with the first pick of the third round, 65th overall. That is not a bad landing spot for Sanu, but it is the latest he has been selected in any of the Draft Tek simulations to date.

Sanu, 6-foot-2, 211 pounds, was not particularly impressive at the NFL Scouting Combine. He ran only a 4.67 40-yard dash and some NFL draft experts question his ability to get open against NFL cornerbacks.

Rutgers is holding its Pro Day on Wednesday, March 21. That is shaping up as a critical day for Sanu to erase the concerns of NFL teams as the 2012 NFL Draft approaches.
