Three former Rutgers Scarlet Knights have received invitations to strut their stuff for NFL scouts and general managers during the NFL Scouting Combine Feb. 22-28 in Indianapolis.
Wide receiver Mohamed Sanu, defensive end Justin Francis and offensive guard Desmond Wynn have received Combine invitations.
Sanu is the most highly-regarded of the Rutgers 2012 NFL Draft prospects. Sanu has been considered a late- first-round or second-round pick in most early mock drafts.
Wes Bunting of the National Football Post has this to say about Sanu:
Physically reminds me some of Hakeem Nicks. Isn’t as NFL ready, but can go get the football, breakdown and separate on all levels of the field. Looks like a future NFL starter who might need some time, but the talent is most definitely there.
Wynn is a 6-6, 295-pound guard who “has a shot a fighting for a roster spot” according to Bunting.
Francis is a 6-4, 275-pound defensive end. Bunting says Francis is “a tweeer, but in a pass happy NFL will have a chance to stick with the right team.”
