Stay connected for news and updates

Ian Thomas, the No. 56 ranked wide receiver according to Rivals, has committed to the Rutgers football program Wednesday during National Signing Day 2012. Thomas, who played Franklin High School in Reisterstown, MD, chose Rutgers over North Carolina and Iowa, the other two finalists for his services. Thomas was the first non-verbal commitment to sign with the Scarlet Knights.

Thomas (6-foot-1, 193-pounds) made his official visit to Rutgers on Dec. 9 and according to his Rivals.com page he caught 49 balls for 986 yard during his junior season.

Already, Rutgers has received letters of intent from three other wide receiver -- Carlton Agudosi (Somerset, N.J.) and Ruhann Peele (Linden, NJ).
