Greg Schiano, Tampa Bay Buccaneers Finalize Five-Year Contract

Quickly, Greg Schiano has become the former head football coach of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

Schiano was a surprise hire by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday, and has officially signed a five-year deal to succeed Raheem Morris, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Schefter reports that Schiano and the Buccaneers brass met secretly twice, the second time being Wednesday night, and that Schiano was on Tampa Bay's radar throughout the head coach search. The Buccaneers also reportedly reached out to many NFL people for more information, and New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick spoke quite highly of Schiano.

Tampa Bay had been close to a deal with Chip Kelly, but at the 11th hour Kelly decided to maintain his position as leader of the Oregon Ducks.
