Stay connected for news and updates

A pair of field goals by senior kicker Zach Guyer has helped the Iowa State Cyclones earn an early advantage over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, which trial 6-0 at the end of the first quarter of the 2011 Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium. Guyer made kicks from 41 and 45 yards, respectively, for the Cyclones (6-6), who has converted five first down but are 0-for-4 on third downs.

On their second possession of the game, the Scarlet Knights marched into Iowa State territory, but had to settled for a 47-yard field goal by senior kick San San Te, who missed the kick.

However, Rutgers forced ISU to a three-and-out on its next possession and has now marched the ball deep inside Cyclones' territory. The Scarlet Knights will begin the second quarter at ISU's 15-yard line and facing a 1st-and-10.
