St. John's-Fordham Final Score: Rams' Late-Game Charge Falls Short, Red Storm Win 56-50

Behind a team-best 15 points from freshman guard D'Angelo Harrison, the St. John's University men's basketball program defeated Fordham University, 56-50, Saturday in a Madison Square Garden Holiday Festival contest in New York. Braden Frazier netted a game-best 17 points for the Rams (4-6), who trailed by as much as 16 points in the second half, but fought their way back into the game.

With 1:58 to go, Fordham trimmed the Johnnies' advantage to just three points, 53-50, but the Rams' late-game run fell short when their final four shots didn't fall. St. John's (5-5) cemented its victory with a free throw from Phil Green and two from Sir'Dominic Pointer.

Forwards, freshman Moe Harkless and junior God'sgift Achiuwa, each posted double-doubles for the Johnnies. Harless netted 13 points and collected a team-best 13 rebounds, while Achiuwa scored 10 points and snagged 12 rebounds.

Chris Gaston tallied a team-best 13 rebounds and netted 11 points for Fordham.

Rutgers Vs. Stony Brook Final Score: Scarlet Knights Defeat Seawolves, 67-58

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights men's basketball team handled their business in their game during the 2011 Madison Square Garden Holiday Festival Tournament. They played the 3-5 – winless on the road – Stony Brook Seawolves and Rutgers won the game by a final score of 67-58 to improve to 6-5 on the season.

Leading the way for the Scarlet Knights was Myles Mack, who scored a game-high 22 points off the bench. Mack played 28 minutes, made seven of his eight shots from the field, including two threes. He was also perfect from the free throw line, hitting all six of his attempts. Mack accounted for the Scarlet Knights' only three pointers in the game, and added three steals, two rebounds and an assist.

Stony Brook accumulated a huge number of offensive rebounds, 20, and second-chance opportunities. They couldn't capitalize however; shooting an abysmal 27 percent from the field. The Seawolves had nine of their shot attempts blocked by the Scarlet Knights, five from Dane Miller alone.

St. John's Vs. Fordham: Game Time, TV Schedule And More

The 4-5 St. John's Red Storm will face off against the 4-5 Fordham Rams today in Madison Square Garden as part of the annual Madison Square Garden Holiday Festival tournament. The Red Storm won the tournament last season behind the play of Justin Brownlee, who now resides in the NBA D-League. 

After beginning the season 3-0 the Red Storm have lost five of their last six games. Their last time out the fell to Detroit on the road by a score of 69-63. The game prior they were routed by the number-one ranked Kentucky Wildcats.

Fordham is also 4-5, but they're coming off a victory – a 74-59 victory over Sienna. Despite the teams' identical records St. John's is a heavy favorite entering today's contest.
