Big East Football Standings 2012: Rutgers undefeated on top of Big East

At 5-0 (2-0), the Rutgers Scarlet Knights are alone on top of the Big East standings with undefeated Cincinnati and Louisville close behind.

The No. 20 Rutgers Scarlet Knights stayed undefeated and on top of the Big East with a dominating 19-3 victory at home against the UConn Huskies.

Rutgers is one of a trio of undefeated squad left in the eight-team conference: the No. 18 Louisville Cardinals were off this week and still have yet to open their conference slate, while the No. 21 Cincinnati Bearcats blew out Miami (Ohio) for their fourth win of the year. Without a championship game, the eventual winner of the conference will likely come down to the games between those three ranked teams, with the first matchup coming between Cincinnati and Louisville on Oct. 26.

Elsewhere in the conference, Temple won its first Big East game since moving to the conference by handing South Florida its fourth consecutive loss, while Syracuse won its first game against FBS competition thus far this season. Here's a look at the full conference standings:
