The Scarlet Knights moved up to No. 18 in latest AP Poll
For the fourth straight week the Rutgers Scarlet Knights football program moved up in the latest AP Poll, which was released Sunday afternoon. Rutgers is ranked the 18th-best team in the country after being No. 19 last week.
On Saturday, Rutgers (7-0, 3-0) defeated the Temple Owls, 35-10, in a Big East Conference game. This is just the fifth time in program history Rutgers has not lost a game through seven games.
Overall, Rutgers is one of two Big East programs to be ranked in the top 25. The Louisville Cardinals, who defeated the South Florida Bulls, 27-25, Saturday, are ranked No. 16. The Cincinnati Bearcats fell out of the rankings, but still received votes, after losing to the Toledo Rockets.
At the top of the rankings, the Alabama Crimson Tides received 59 first-place votes to remain the No. 1 team in the country. The Oregon Ducks, Florida Gators, Kansas St. Wildcats and Notre Dame Fighting Irish round out the top 5.
