Yankees Vs. Red Sox Final Score: Andruw Jones Homers Twice As Yankees Take Game 1 Of Doubleheader, 6-1

The New York Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox, 6-1, in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader at Fenway Park. Andruw Jones hit two home runs, and the Yankees hit four total off of Franklin Morales (1-2, 3.50 ERA) before the Red Sox starter left the mound after just 3 1/3 innings.

Nick Swisher put the Yankees on the board with a three-run homer with two outs in the first inning. Jones hit a solo shot on his next at-bat, giving New York a quick 4-0 lead.

The Yankees hit back-to-back homers again in the fourth inning. Jones took Morales deep to left field to lead off the inning. Jayson Nix followed up Jones with another home run to left.

Swisher's home run was his 13th of the season. Jones hit his eighth and ninth and Nix hit his third.

Freddy Garcia (3-2, 5.23 ERA)) started and went 6 2/3 innings for the Yankees, striking out five. He gave up six hits and two walks, and just one earned run. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Mauro Gomez single to score David Ortiz.

The second doubleheader will start at 7:15 p.m. ET on Saturday. Phil Hughes (9-6, 4.29 ERA) and Felix Doubront (8-4, 4.42) are your starting pitchers.
