The first game with newly-acquired outfielder Ichiro Suzuki was successful. The New York Yankees are hoping the trend continues Tuesday (10:10 p.m. ET on YES Network) as they continue their West Coast road trip and take on the Seattle Marines for the second game of a three-game series at Safeco Field.
Current and former Mariner teammate of Suzuki, Freddy Garcia (4-3) takes the mound for the Yankees and will oppose Seattle ace Felix Hernandez (8-5). Garcia will be trying to bounce-back from a bad start, which lasted less than six innings, against the Oakland A's last Thursday. Meanwhile, Hernandez has been on fire as of late, compiling a 3-0 with a 1.36 ERA in his last seven starts.
On Monday, the Yankees (58-38) and Mariners (42-56) pulled off a notable trade, as Suzuki was dealt to New York for minor-league prospects. In his first game with NYY, Ichiro collected a hit and stole a base to help his new team earn a 4-1 victory and snap a four-game losing streak.
