The New York Yankees look to turn things around on Saturday night after losing the first two games of their four game series against the Oakland Athletics. Phil Hughes (9-7 4.22 ERA) will pitch for New York, facing off with Jarrod Parker (6-4 3.16 ERA) for Oakland.
The Yankees haven't lost three in a row since June 19-22, where the dropped two to the Atlanta Braves and one to the New York Mets. They haven't lost three in a row to the A's since 2006. If they want to avoid that fate on Saturday they'll need their offense to come through, the Yankees bats have largely been handled by Oakland's young pitching staff. "Really it starts with their pitching," Russell Martin told the Yankees official website. "Not many teams can contain us like they have in the last couple games." Martin had a solo home run in Friday's loss.
