While the New York Yankees continue to win and search for possible outfield depth via trades, the Bronx Bombers get a well welcomed return Tuesday when ace C.C. Sabathia comes off the disable list and starts against the Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium (7:05 p.m. ET on MY9).
Sabathia (9-3, 3.45 ERA) will take the mound and oppose Toronto's Brett Cecil (2-1, 6.75) in Game 2 of the three-game series. This will be the first start for Sabathia since June 24, when he started against the New York Mets and left with a left groin strain.
On Monday, the Yankees used a eighth-inning rally, backed by a grand slam from Raul Ibanez, to down the Jays 6-3. The victory improved New York's record to 12-6 since Sabathia headed to the DL.
Meanwhile, Cecil is trying to bounce back from a rough outing against the Chicago White Sox, who knocked out the lefty after just 4 1/3 innings.
