The New York Yankees will look for their first three-game sweep of the second half of the season Sunday, as they face the visiting Los Angeles Angels at Yankees Stadium (1:05 p.m. ET on YES Network). In the series finale, sophomore pitcher Ivan Nova (10-3, 3.92 ERA) will take the mound and oppose the Angels' ace Jered Weaver (10-1, 1.96 ERA).
The Yankees (54-33) are coming off back-to-back close victories over the Angels (48-40). On Saturday, Robinson Cano and Curtis Granderson each hit two-run home runs to help New York earn a 5-3 victory, which sets up a possible series sweep. The Yankees took the the series opener by a score of 6-5.
Nova will be trying to earn his second victory against the Angles this season, while Weaver is making his fourth start, first against the Yankees, since coming off the disable list with a lower back strain.
