Yankees Vs. White Sox Final Score: Eric Chavez, Robinson Cano Homers Power New York To 4-2 Win

The New York Yankees defeated the Chicago White Sox, 4-2, at Yankee Stadium on Sunday. The two teams split the four-game set.

The White Sox took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on RBI singles from Kevin Youkilis and Alex Rios. The Yankees got the two runs back on an Eric Chavez two-run homer in the second inning. Robinson Cano's two-run shot in the third inning gave the the Yankees a 4-2 lead.

Phil Hughes got the start for New York and went eight strong innings in the win. Hughes allowed six hits and two earned runs while walking just one batter and striking out eight. Gavin Floyd went 5 1/3 innings in the loss. Floyd gave up eight hits, four earned runs and five walks and struck out three batters. Rafael Soriano pitched a scoreless ninth to pick up his 18th save. Soriano walked one batter and struck out two while allowing no hits.
