Tyler Austin will be the lone New York Yankees representative in the 2012 MLB Futures Game, an exhibition between some of the top minor league talent which will be played on July 8 as part of the MLB's All-Star weekend.

Austin, a 20-year old who has played first base, third base and right field, is batting .336 with 14 home runs and 50 RBI over 58 games at Single-A Charleston. The righty was selected in the 13th round of the 2010 MLB Amateur Draft, and has quickly proven himself as one of the Yankees' top prospects.

In a recent article published by Baseball America on April 20, Austin was ranked the third-hottest prospect in all of baseball. The article called him "the hottest hitter in minor league baseball" and pointed out that his move to right field this season has been good for his development.
