Nick Swisher Injury Update: Yankees Outfielder Out Vs. Braves On Monday

Stay connected for news and updates

The New York Yankees announced that right fielder Nick Swisher will miss Monday night's game against the Atlanta Braves at Yankee Stadium.

Swisher also missed Sunday's game against the Washington Nationals with a bone bruise on his left leg. Yankees Manager Joe Girardi does not expect Swisher to miss much more time due to the injury, saying "It's a bone bruise, it's gonna go away. Is it another day after today? It's possible. Do I expect to have him in the next couple days? I do." (via ESPN New York)

Swisher picked up the leg injury on Saturday while sliding into home plate and needed stitches. Andruw Jones will play in right field and bat sixth in place of Swisher on Monday.

Swisher is hitting .262 with 10 homers, 20 walks and 40 RBI for the Yankees this season in 58 games.
