Fans of the New York Yankees did not leave the stadium feeling any better about missing Mariano Rivera on Wednesday night. In his second save opportunity since taking the closer job from the injured Rivera, David Robertson allowed four runs, blowing a save and handing the Tampa Bay Rays a 4-1 win.
Yankees starter David Phelps struggled himself through nearly five innings of work, walking four, but not allowing any runs to score. The bullpen kept the Rays off the board until the ninth.
The Yankees have one more game against the Rays on Thursday before a three-game set at home against Seattle over the weekend.
