New York Yankees longtime closer Mariano Rivera went down with a torn ACL shagging fly balls before Thursday's game against the Kansas City Royals. After the ACL diagnosis, one had to expect that Rivera's career could be coming to an end.
Rivera sought to end that speculation when speaking to reporters on Friday.
"I'm coming back. Write it down in big letters. I'm not going out like this." - Mariano Rivera to reporters today. (via Yankees Twitter).
Rivera also tweeted about his future comeback on Friday:

Rivera, 42, appeared in nine games for the Yankees in 2012. His was 1-1 with an ERA of 2.16 and five saves in six opportunities. He struck out eight batters and walked two in 8.1 innings of relief.
