ALCS 2012, Yankees vs. Tigers score update: New York trails 1-0 after 7 innings

The New York Yankees trail the Detroit Tigers 1-0 after seven innings at Yankee Stadium in Game 2 of the 2012 ALCS on Sunday.

After six scoreless innings, the Yankees surrendered the first run of the game in the top of the seventh inning. Quintin Berry opened the inning for the Tigers with a ground rule double off of Yankees' starter Hiroki Kuroda. Miguel Cabrera followed with a slap single into the outfield which advanced Berry to third base. Kuroda struck out Prince Fielder before Delmon Young hit into a fielder's choice which scored Berry. Kuroda got Andy Dirks to ground out to get out of the inning but the damage had been done.

In the Yankee half of the inning, Alex Rodriguez lined out to left field in the first at-bat. Curtis Granderson walked and then stole second base during a Nick Swisher strikeout. Jayson Nix was struck out by Anibal Sanchez to end the inning. The Yankees are 0-3 with runners in scoring position in Sunday's game.
