Yankees 3, White Sox 1: Colon, Cano Carry Yankees

Bronx, NY (Sports Network) - Bartolo Colon pitched eight innings for another win and Robinson Cano backed his effort with a three-run homer, leading the Yankees to a 3-1 victory over the White Sox.

Colon (2-1) made just his second start in nearly two years and yielded one run on seven hits and a walk, striking out six.

White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen was ejected in between the top and bottom of the first inning for arguing with home plate umpire Todd Tichenor, who rung up Paul Konerko on strikes for the third out.

Guillen flailed his arms during the argument, jawing at Tichenor. After his ejection, Guillen posted two messages on his Twitter feed: "This one going to cost me a lot money this is [pathetic]" and "Today a tough guy show up [at] yankee stadium."

Cano gave the Yankees a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first, lining a 1-1 pitch over the right field wall. His sixth homer of the season scored Derek Jeter, who walked to lead off the inning, and Alex Rodriguez, who singled with two outs.

It was the only offense the Yankees needed.
