Report: Yankees And Brian Cashman Reach A Deal

YES network is reporting that the New York Yankees and General Manager Brian Cashman have reached a three year extension. This is on the heels of both Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman tweeting that the two sides have come to an agreement. The Yankees are expected to make an announcement following game seven of the World Series.

Brian Cashman has been in charge of baseball operations for the Yankees since 1998, the same year that they won 114 games and a World Series. He has been an integral part in building the Yankees' line up and bringing in stars such as Alex Rodriguez and Mark Teixiera. Now that Cashman is locked in for an additional three years, the team will now focus on retaining starting pitcher C.C. Sabathia before he can opt out of his current deal and become a free agent next Wednesday. Sabathia is the highest priority for the Yankees this upcoming off season.
