According to Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated, Cliff Lee finally made his decision, and it was to the much-ballyhooed “Mystery Team”, the Philadelphia Phillies.
Setting up a rotation the likes of which haven’t been seen since late-90’s Atlanta, the lefty hurler shunned what has been reported as a lot of money to return to the ballpark where his half-season helped the Phils win a second consecutive National League Championship in 2009.
This certainly hurts the egos of a lot of Yankees and Rangers fans, as well as anyone who roots for any team in the NL East. More to come.
