Red Bulls Vs. Tottenham Final Score: Hotspur Win 2-1 In Friendly

Stay connected for news and updates

The New York Red Bulls took on the Tottenham Hotspur in a friendly at Red Bull Arena on Tuesday evening. Unfortunately, New York could not come through with a win over the English Premier League club despite taking a 1-0 lead in the eighth minute.

Kenny Cooper buried a penalty kick past the Tottenham goalkeeper. The opportunity came thanks to the work of new Designated Player Tim Cahill, who drew a penalty in the box. The lead lasted until the 60th minute, when Gareth Bale scored the equalizer for the Hotspur. Five minutes later, Tottenham had the lead on a goal by Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The Red Bulls are still the No. 1 team atop the Eastern Conference standings. Their 11-6-5 record tops Houston (10-5-7) and Kansas City (11-7-4). New York is 2-2-1 in its last five games.
