Union Vs. Red Bulls Final Score: Second-Half Surge Helps New York Down Philadelphia, 3-2

After using defense in their last three victories, the New York Red Bulls Sunday needed an offensive explosion to down regional rival the Philadelphia Union, 3-2, at PPL Park in Chester, Pa. Kenny Cooper scored the game-winner for the Red Bulls (7-3-1) in the 78th minute, while rookie goaltender Ryan Meara made a critical save in the closing minutes of stoppage time to cap the come-from-behind victory against Philadelphia (2-6-1).

Joel Lindpere (17th minute) and Markus Holgersson (68th minute) also scored for New York, which earned its fourth consecutive victory and is now tied with Kansas City FC for first place in the Eastern Conferenceat 21 points. Philadelphia had multiple chances to tie the game late, but couldn't get the ball to cross the goal line.

The Red Bulls will try to continue their winning streak next Saturday in Montreal.
