The city doesn't sleep, and neither do we.
Considering the reputation for finding trouble that Luke Rodgers brought with him to the New York Red Bulls I would think it is hardly surprising that Rodgers is making no effort to hide his dislike for L.A. Galaxy star Landon Donovan. After the teams tied 1-1 on Saturday Rodgers had several, shall we say 'unflattering,' things to say about Donovan.
"In this league, he’s a respected person, but he’s telling Titi to (screw) off. The kid’s a (expletive) head. I don’t care. I just think the kid’s a (friggin’) jerk. I don’t care what you put,’’ said Rodgers, clear that his views were his views, and he didn’t care if they were printed, blogged or tweeted.
"After (Thierry) Henry scored he’s running the whole length of the pitch to shout at the linesman. He must have eyes like a hawk to tell if he’s offsides. I tackled the keeper he’s running whole length of the field to tell the ref I should be sent off. He needs to be a bit more humble.’’
For his part, Donovan simply replied on Twitter, "I'm confused; who is Luke Rogers?"
Here is a clip from the game, and in the first few seconds you see Rodgers mocking a complaining Donovan.
Like the tone of this or not the end result is that it gets people talking about the MLS, and it puts a little more pizzazz into what is already a good rivalry.
