Andre Deveaux Suspended For Illegal Hit To The Head

Stay connected for news and updates

New York Rangers forward Andre Deveaux has received a three game suspension for an illegal hit to the head of Florida Panthers forward Tomas Fleischmann on Wednesday.

After the first suspension of his career, Deveaux will miss games against the Washington Capitals, Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins, three of the Eastern Conference's top teams. The 27-year old has one assist and 29 penalty minutes so far this season.

The Rangers will look to snap take a two-game losing skid when they take the ice Friday against the Capitals. New York had won seven straight games prior to losing decisions against the Montreal Canadiens and Florida Panthers. Washington ousted the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday night to move to 12-7-1, two points behind Florida for the top spot in the Southeast Division. It will be the teams' first meeting this season.
