The weekly SB Nation NHL Power Rankings have been released for Week 15, and as usual the news is not pretty for our local trio of hockey squads. The New York Rangers, New York Islanders and New Jersey Devils are holding steady where they were in Week 14, and that is not necessarily great news.
The Rangers (26-18-3) remain in the sixth spot in the Eastern Conference. The Rangers will be busy the next few days. They host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday (7 p.m. ET), then play at Carolina Thursday and at Atlanta on Saturday.
The New York Islanders (14-23-7) are 13th in the Eastern Conference. The Isles are next in action Thursday, when they host the Washington Capitals at 7 p.m. ET.
The New Jersey Devils (13-29-3) bring up the rear in the Eastern Conference, 15th out of the conference's 15 teams. The Devils host the Pittsburgh Penguins Thursday (7 p.m. ET).
In the overall rankings, the Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins -- in that order -- are the top three teams in the Eastern Conference. In the Western Conference, the top three teams are the Vancouver Canucks, Detroit Red Wings and Dallas Stars.
