Dillon Gee Injury Status: Mets' Pitcher Speaks About Surgery

For the first time since being admitted to a hospital for a blood clot issues in his throwing arm, New York Mets pitcher Dillon Gee talked to reporters Tuesday via conference all and explained his medical condition and future for this season.

According to ESPNNewYork.com's Adam Rubin, who quoted Gee from his Twitter feed, the sophomore hurler was discharged from the hospital Monday and he hopes to be throwing again in six weeks. Luckily, said Gee, the artery damage, caused by a clot, wasn't life threatening but could have cause sever artery and tissue damage if it wasn't caught in time. Gee admitted he has had numbness in his hand for years which doctors say was caused by repetitive throwing.

Gee said he would like to return for this year, but odds are against that considering he can't resume throwing until six weeks.
