2012 MLB Draft: Stony Brook, St. John's Have Several Players Selected On Day 2

On Day 1 of the 2012 MLB Draft Travis Jankowski became the highest-drafted player ever in the history of the Stony Brook baseball program when he was taken 44th overall by the San Diego Padres. Tuesday, Jankowski was joined by several of his teammates.

Rounds 2-15 of the draft were held Tuesday and several of Jankowski’s Seawolves teammates were selected. A list of regional players drafted on Tuesday is below. The draft concludes Wednesday with rounds 16-40.

Round 3

Patrick Cantwell (Stony Brook, C) — Texas Rangers, 123rd overall

Round 4

Patrick Kivlehan (Rutgers, 3B) — Seattle Mariners, 131st overall

Round 5

Matthew Wessinger (St. John’s, SS) — Colorado Rockies, 168th overall

Round 6

Matt Carasiti (St. John’s, RHP) — Colorado Rockies, 198th overall
Kyle Hansen (St. John’s, RHP) — Chicago White Sox, 201st overall

Round 7

Andrew Velazquez (Fordham Prep, SS) — Arizona Diamondback, 243rd overall

Round 10

James Watkins (US Military Academy, C) — Boston Red Sox, 331st overall
Daniel Poma (Hofstra, OF) — Arizona Diamondbacks, 333rd overall

Round 11

Maxx Tissenbaum (Stony Brook, IF) — San Diego Padres, 345th overall
William Carmona (Stony Brook, 3B) — Philadelphia Phillies, 368th overall

Round 12

James Campbell (Stony Brook, RHP) — Los Angeles Dodgers, 386th overall

Round 15

Dario Pizzano (Columbia, OF) — Seattle Mariners, 461st overall
Nelson Rodriguez (George Washington HS, C) — Cleveland Indians, 473rd overall
