The New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies continue their four-game series Tuesday, as rookie Jeremy Hefner will take the mound for the Mets and oppose veteran Joe Blanton in Game 2 at Citi Field (7:10 p.m. ET on SNY). Hefner (0-2) will try to help his team earn a bounce-back victory after losing 8-4 Monday.
Hefner is also looking for a bounce-back outing as he was torched by the San Diego Padres for six earned runs in just 3 2/2 innings. Blanton is in the same boat has Hefner, as he gave up seven runs on 10 hits in 4 1/3 innings against the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday. On May 19, Blanton surrendered four home runs to the Boston Red Sox.
