The New York Mets look for their fourth win in five tries when they host the San Diego Padres on Saturday afternoon. (Game Time: 1:10 p.m. ET, TV Schedule: WPIX, MLB Network)
New York rebounded from a series-opening defeat to post a 6-1 thrashing of the Padres on Friday night. Dillon Gee struck out a career-high nine over seven strong innings, allowing just four hits and one run. The Mets gave Gee all the support he needed with two runs in the third, and added three more in the fifth.
Johan Santana takes the mound for New York on Saturday trying to snap his streak of three winless starts. He will be opposed by San Diego's Clayton Richard.
