The New York Mets look to continue their recent strong play during a three-game set with the Colorado Rockies beginning Friday night.

The New York Mets look to keep the good times rolling after a three-game sweep of the Miami Marlins when they visit the Colorado Rockies for another three-game series beginning Friday night. (Friday Game Time: 8:40 p.m. ET, TV Schedule: SNY)

Despite their surprisingly strong play, the Mets received some bad news Thursday when Mike Pelfrey was diagnosed with a partially torn ligament in his right elbow. The starting pitcher, who posted a 2.29 ERA during his first three starts, said he is 99 percent certain he will undergo Tommy John surgery and is expected to miss the remainder of the season.

The Mets have benefitted from strong pitching during their quick start, surrendering just four runs during their series with the Marlins. Looking to continue the staff's trend, Chris Schwinden will take Pelfrey's spot in the rotation Friday night against the Rockies. His counterpart will be Colorado's Drew Pomeranz.
