Mets Vs. Giants: Sunday's Game 3 Postponed Due To Weather Forecast

Stay connected for news and updates

The weather forecast for Flushing, NY isn't a good one, and the New York Mets and San Francisco Giants, who were each set to play Game 3 of a four-game set on Sunday, have decided to postpone the contest until Monday when a old-fashioned doubleheader will be played starting at 4 p.m. ET.

Sunday's pitching match-up was suppose to feature the Mets' Dillon Gee pitching against Giants' ace Tim Lincecum, but that will be different Monday. In Game 1, Miguel Batista will toss for the Mets, while Lincecum will go for the Giants; Game 2 will feature Gee against Madison Bumgarner.

Mets ace Johan Santana, who was suppose to pitch Monday against Bumgarner, will now make his fourth start of the season on Tuesday, when New York hosts the Miami Marlins at 7 p.m. ET.

So far, the series is split at two games apiece, as San Francisco won Game 1 (4-3) in 10 innings, however, lost Game 2 on Saturday, 5-4.
