Mets Vs. Braves Final Score: Ike Davis 3-Run Home Run Lifts New York To 6-1 Win

The New York Mets won their series opener over the Atlanta Braves 6-1 on Monday night. The two teams were tied 1-1 in the top of the sixth inning before Ike Davis came through with a three-run home run with two outs off of Tommy Hanson to give the Mets the lead for good.

Meanwhile, Dillon Gee was solid on the mound, giving up just four hits and an earned run in seven innings of work. Jon Rauch and Tim Byrdak gave up just one hit between themselves out of the bullpen to put a cap on the game in the final two innings. Jack Wilson nearly had a home run in the fifth inning, but Jason Bay went up on the wall and came down with the ball to keep the Braves off the board.

Josh Thole had a nice night going 2-for-4 from the plate and scored on wild pitch by Hanson. Bay also added a one-shot home run off of Livan Hernandez in the ninth.
