The New York Mets will be going for a three-game sweep of the struggling Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday. New York won the first game of the series, 5-2, behind a great pitching performance from knuckleballer, R.A. Dickey. Dickey went seven innings, allowed only one run and struck out seven Phils, out-dueling Cliff Lee. Game two was more of the same, as the Mets cruised to an easy 5-0 victory, behind a strong start from Jonathon Niese.
Cole Hamels and Mike Pelfrey are the probable starters for the third and final game. Hamels is 0-1 on the season with a 5.06 ERA. Pelfrey earned a no decision in his first start, where he allowed three earned runs in 5.2 innings pitched.
First pitch is scheduled for 1:35 p.m. EST.
