(Sports Network) - Josh Thole had a pair of run-scoring singles, as the New York Mets snapped their seven-game slide with a 3-2 win over the Atlanta Braves in the finale of a three-game set at Turner Field.
Dillon Gee (1-0), taking the spot in the rotation for Chris Young, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Saturday with biceps tendinitis, gave up one run on five hits with a pair of walks over 5 2/3 effective innings. The right-hander struck out four. Francisco Rodriguez locked the game down in the ninth despite allowing the leadoff hitter to reach. It was his second save of the season.
Tommy Hanson (1-3) threw five innings, allowing three runs on five hits with a pair of walks and fanned nine, but was tagged with the loss.
