With the New York Mets officially introducing Sandy Alderson today as their general manager, the focus turns to who Alderson will choose to manage the team on the field.

ESPN New York looked at what are believed to be Alderson's criteria for a new manager, and offered some names who might merit consideration.
It is widely believed Alderson would prefer a candidate with managerial experience, who will adhere to the front office’s philosophies regarding a distaste for bunting and giving up outs, as well as someone with New York ties.
