With this Dwight Howard story, you never can tell what's about to happen. However, it seems the story might be closer to reaching a conclusion that Brooklyn Nets fans would be very happy about.
Per Ken Berger at CBSSports.com, the Nets and Orlando Magic have "made progress" on a deal for the superstar center. The Cleveland Cavaliers would be the third party, taking power forward Kris Humphries from the Nets.
The Cavs would take Humphries in a sign-and-trade deal, but they would also want MarShon Brooks and perhaps some draft picks for helping Brooklyn's cause.
Berger wrote that there is "significant work left to be done" before a trade is completed. One potential fly in the ointment is Humphries having to agree to a deal sending him to the Cavaliers.
Despite the obstacles Berger wrote that Brooklyn is now the "most likely landing spot for Howard in a trade."Howard, of course, has been insistent that the Nets are the only team with whom he is willing to sign a long-term deal.
