The New York Knicks and guard Ronnie Brewer have agreed in terms of a one-year deal, a source has told NBA.com's David Aldridge. Brewer (6-foot-7, 227-pounds) is expected to compete with J.R. Smith for the shooting guard starting spot, says Aldridge.
Last season, Brewer averaged 6.9 points and 2.9 assists per game with the Bulls, who decided to not pick-up the $4.3 million option in his contract. Over the course of his six season in the NBA, Brewer has played for the Utah Jazz and Memphis Grizzles.
In '06, Brewer was drafted 14th overall by the Jazz, who he played five season for. His best year was '08-09, when he averaged 13.7 ppg.
