Amare Stoudemire Injury Update: Mike Woodson Thinks Stoudemire Will Play Game 4

Stay connected for news and updates

New York Knicks coach Mike Woodson said Friday that he expects Amare Stoudemire to return to the lineup for Game 4 of the team's 2012 NBA Playoffs first-round series against the Miami Heat, per New York Times reporter Howard Beck.

Stoudemire missed New York's Game 3 loss on Thursday after injuring his hand striking a fire extinguisher in the moments after Game 2. The Knicks briefly looked like they might be a better team in Stoudemire's absence during Game 3, but Lebron James scored 17 points in the fourth quarter and Miami ran away with an 87-70 victory.

If Stoudemire does not return Sunday, it's reasonable to wonder whether he'll get another chance this year. Miami has looked dominant through the first three legs of the series and now rests just one win away from the second round.
