New York Knicks guard Iman Shumpert was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team on Tuesday, as voted by the league's coaches.
Shumpert averaged 9.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists while often taking the responsibility of guarding the opposition's best player. His year was cut short by a torn ACL during New York's first-round playoff series against the Miami Heat, leaving the Knicks with a woefully thin back court for the remainder of the series.
The other players to join Shumper on the First Team are Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Ricky Rubio of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Kenneth Faried of the Denver Nuggets, Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors, Kawhi Leonard of the San Antonio Spurs and Brandon Knight of the Detroit Pistons.
The Nets' MarShon Brooks was named to the Second Team alongside Derrick Williams of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Isaiah Thomas of the Sacramento Kings, Chandler Parsons of the Houston Rockets and Tristan Thompson of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
