Heat Vs. Knicks, 2012 NBA Playoffs Game 2: New York Loses 104-94, Takes 2-0 Deficit Back To MSG

The New York Knicks will take a two-game deficit with them when their 2012 NBA Playoffs Eastern Conference series against the Miami Heat heads to Madison Square Garden on Thursday. The Knicks put up a stronger fight than in their 33-point demolition Saturday, but the Heat proved too talented once again on their way to a 104-94 win.

Carmelo Anthony did everything he could to help the Knicks' cause, finishing with 30 points. He went 9-for-18 in the first half, but just 3-for-8 for nine points in the second half. Amare Stoudemire pitched in 18 points, but as a whole New York was not as sharp as Miami offensively.

The Heat shot 52.1 percent from the floor for the game, and made four more 3-pointers and six more free throws than the Knicks for the game. Scoring was balanced across the Big 3. Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and LeBron James had 25, 21 and 19 points on the night, respectively.

The Knicks enjoyed a 40-33 advantage on rebounds, but couldn't make up for poor shooting outside of Melo and Stat. Landry Fields started, but played just 16 minutes after going 1-for-5 from the field for two points.

Final - 4.30.2012 1 2 3 4 Total
New York Knicks 24 23 22 25 94
Miami Heat 27 26 25 26 104
