2012 NBA Playoffs: Tyson Chandler Will Play While Landry Fields Gets The Start

Stay connected for news and updates

On a day when New York Knicks fans are anxiously waiting for Game Two of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals against the Miami Heat on Monday night, they get a little bit of good news.

Tyson Chandler will play despite the flu according to Al Iannazzone via twitter.

Chandler played very poorly on Saturday, not scoring any points and having four fouls in the fist half. He'll have to be much better if New York has any hope at all going forward.

Also, Landry Fields will get the start at shooting guard after Iman Shumpert tore his ACL, this also passing along by Al Iannazzone.

While Fields is a capable player, this is certainly a major downgrade from the type of defense that Shumpert can provide on a prolific scorer such as Dwyane Wade.

The Knicks will be relying heavily on both Fields and Chandler to come up with big efforts in Miami.
