The New York Knicks visit the Atlanta Hawks Sunday afternoon (1 p.m. ET on ESPN), and will need to collect a victory without center and defensive presence Tyson Chandler, who will be receiving a much needed day off, reports Tina Cervasio via Twitter. The Knicks (33-30) and head coach Mike Woodson can afford to do this, as it already has locked up a Eastern Conference playoff spot.
Tyson Chandler not starting for #Knicks today vs Hawks ...Simply resting him. Woodson says "he's logged a lot of minutes..rest is important"

Cervasio also is reporting that Jared Jeffries is shutdown for the Knicks final three regular-season games, as he's trying to recover from inflammation and soreness in the knee. Jeffries said he will be ready for the postseason, however, is not sure how many minutes he will play.
