Bobcats Vs. Knicks: New York Holds On For 91-87 Win

The Charlotte Bobcats never led again after taking a 16-15 lead over the New York Knicks with 4:28 left in the first quarter of Monday night's game. They made things interesting with a late run, however, coming within two points of the Knicks with just over a minute left before eventually falling by a 91-87 final score.

The Knicks' defensive effort has been much maligned throughout the season, but they did a nice job on that end of the floor Monday. Holding a 79-71 lead with 6:48 left in the game, New York gave up an 11-3 run by the Bobcats, however, knotting the game up at 82 apiece. The Knicks would retake and retain the lead on a Carmelo Anthony layup, but not without some trepidation from then on.

Anthony finished with 22 points for the day on 6-for-18 shooting. Tyson Chandler was effective in the paint once again, picking up 13 rebounds and 20 points on 7-for-8 from the field. Amare Stoudemire led all scorers with 25 points in addition to his 12 rebounds.
