Carmelo Anthony Injury Update: New York Knicks Forward Cleared, Will Start Against Orlando Magic

New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony has been medically cleared to play and will start against the Orlando Magic on Monday afternoon, reported the New York Times' Howard Beck early Monday afternoon.

Anthony sprained his ankle Thursday against the Memphis Grizzlies and missed Saturday's loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Without Anthony in the lineup, New York shot 41.0 percent from the field against the Thunder and every starter on the team had a minus-15 rating or worse en route to a 104-92 defeat.

Anthony has averaged 25.5 points and 6.2 rebounds this season and has been making a more concerted effort as a playmaker (his 4.3 assists per game would be a career high), but was shooting just 38.8 percent in the four games before the injury.

The Magic have won three straight, all on the road.
