New York Knicks star forward Carmelo Anthony is not practicing on Friday due to a sprained ankle and sprained wrist he suffered during Thursday night's loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. Anthony is considered day-to-day and could miss Saturday's meeting with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Anthony injured his wrist during the first quarter, but taped it and returned to the game, finishing with 14 points. It wasn't until early in the third quarter that Anthony added injury to injury, spraining his ankle after getting tangled up with Grizzlies center Marc Gasol.
By the time Anthony left, the Knicks were already well on their way to the 94-83 defeat.
"We will see [Friday],'' Anthony said Thursday regarding his availability. "Right now I'm real sore. I'm more concerned with getting my ankle right. I can deal with my wrist. I can wrap the wrist and play through that. A sore ankle is a bit more deal with.''
